1. Orange County has suffered its first infant death from COVID-19 throughout the pandemic. The death was among 56 deaths reported in the last few days in the county. 71% of residents age 12 and older have received at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, an increase of around 7% from August. (Orlando Sentinel)

2. Orlando's only bacon-free Wendy's has now shut down. The location was banned in its lease from selling any pork products due to religious ownership. The area it was located in is being developed on by AdventHealth. (Orlando Weekly)

3. Governor DeSantis has imposed a $5,000 fine for cities and counties that require vaccines for public employees, “for every single violation." He also called vaccine mandates an attack on first-responders. DeSantis went on threaten "millions and millions of dollars, potentially, in fines" to cities and counties and railed against private business vaccine mandates as well. (Yahoo! News)

4. Looking to try a new restaurant on a deal? Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining program was scheduled to end on October 3rd, but has been extended to October 17th. The extension will give more time to raise funds for charity and support local restaurants. (WFTV)

5. Two Volusia County K-9s were shot following a shootout between a carjacking suspect and Volusia County sheriff's deputies. Both K9S received emergency treatment and are back recovering with their handlers. (WESH)
