Here are the top stories today in Orlando:
- A 14-year-old teenager from Hillsborough County near Tampa was killed last weekend in Orlando at Dezerland Park during a shooting. Two other teens were injured in the shooting and survived. The shooting happened at around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday in the 5200 block of International Drive, according to authorities. An investigation is now underway. (Orlando Patch)
- Thornton Park is hosting "Cinco on the Street" from 4 p.m. to midnight along East Washington Street on Friday, May 5 for Cinco de Mayo. Attendees to the fiesta can enjoy games, drink specials, local food, live entertainment, and more. (WFTV)
- Kura Sushi, a conveyor belt concept from Japan, is planning to open a second location at Waterford Lakes Town Center, according to Orlando Business Journal. - Universal’s Annual Passholders have access to a new lounge at Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure as bonus benefits month gets underway at the Orlando theme park. The lounge is a bit smaller than the previous one according to Inside Universal. (Inside Universal)
- The Orlando Tech Community Grant created by Orlando Economic Partnership’s Orlando Tech Community has provided more than $65,000 to four tech companies in the area.
