1. A body located in Orange County on Thursday is believed to be the missing father of an 18-year-old man, Jonny Santiago, who is accused of shooting at law enforcement in Mount Dora, Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a tweet. (Click Orlando)

2. DHI Communities Inc. wants to turn more than 50 acres outside of downtown Winter Garden into apartments, townhomes and commercial space, according to plans filed with Florida on July 11. It would be called "Winter Garden Gateway." (Subscription: Orlando Business Journal)

3. Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in Orlando Thursday for the 70th Boule of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. More than 12,000 members attended the international event at the Orange County Convention Center and another 12,000 watched virtually. (WESH)

4. Orlando police department said a man is dead after he was reportedly shot at while driving on SR-408 on Thursday afternoon, and later crashed into a tree near downtown Orlando. Authorities said a man in his 40s was driving westbound on SR-408 around 2:25 p.m. when his vehicle was shot at and "struck multiple times" near Bumby. (Fox 35)

5. Crocante Rotisserie Kitchen is opening up at 4311 East Colonial Drive, which once housed a Fuddruckers before every Central Florida franchise shuttered in February. Crocante also has a location in Kissimmee at 1550 West Vine Street. (Click Orlando)
