1. 2 hospitalized after Orlando Target parking lot crash, FHP says (fox35orlando.com) — Two people were hospitalized after a Tesla accelerated while parking and hit a woman and several vehicles at the Target near Town Center Boulevard and South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando Saturday evening. Both the Orlando driver and the woman loading her car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and Florida Highway Patrol troopers are still investigating the crash.
   

2. Tanqueray's bar in downtown Orlando closing after nearly 37 years (wesh.com) — One of downtown Orlando’s best-known dive bars, Tanqueray’s at Pine and Orange, will close on New Year’s Eve after nearly 37 years, citing city nightlife regulations and a non-renewed lease. Regulars are packing in final visits to enjoy live music at the underground spot. Its shutdown follows other recent downtown Orlando bar closures tied to after-midnight permit costs.
   

3. Driver of Mercedes stopped with THC and firearm on Florida Turnpike (leesburg-news.com) — An Orlando man on pre-trial release in Orange County was arrested on the Florida Turnpike after troopers found a THC vape and a handgun in his Mercedes. He told officers he was driving back to Orlando from Texas, but records showed he wasn’t allowed to leave the state or possess drugs or firearms, leading to new charges and jail without bond.
   

4. Spectrum News 13 journalists volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank (mynews13.com) — Volunteers in Orlando helped sort donations at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, providing the equivalent of 8,720 meals for neighbors facing hunger. Student athletes from a Nona volleyball team joined Spectrum News 13 journalists and other local volunteers, and organizers are inviting more residents to get involved.
   

5. Holiday scams: ‘Tis the season to shop smarter and safer (wftv.com) — Orlando shoppers are being warned to watch for increasingly sophisticated holiday scams as online spending rises this season. From fake delivery notices and bogus invoices to QR-code phishing and AI-powered voice cloning, experts urge residents to slow down, verify messages directly with companies, and use secure payment methods and two-factor authentication to protect their data and money.
