1. Central Florida Senator Jeff Brandes of St. Petersburg wants a new state bird in Florida. He wants to replace the mockingbird, stating it must have "had a very good lobbyist." (Orlando Weekly)
2. A Lakeland man was arrested on seven charges, including first degree murder, on Saturday. 37-year old Jason Robinson's mother called the Auburndale Police Department to report her son. He is accused of killing his girlfriend and burying her body. (Click Orlando)
3. Mad Cow Theatre has announced the appointment of a new artistic director, Dr. Julius John. He recently served as Associate Professor and Director of Theatre at Bethune-Cookman University and is one of the founding members of Music, Theatre, Dance, Professionals in the Academy. (Bungalower)
4. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings received a letter Friday from the Florida Department of Health, threatening the county with hefty fines for mandating vaccinations of its employees. Demings says he is expecting a legal battle with Governor Ron DeSantis and the state. (Orlando Sentinel)
