Florida Couple Receives 65 Pounds Of Marijuana With Amazon Order

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding how an order for plastic storage bins included marijuana.

ORLANDO, FL — Police in Orlando are investigating after a couple who ordered plastic storage bins on Amazon ended up with 65 pounds of marijuana.

The customers, who asked not to be identified, spoke to WFTV, said they ordered the bins because they needed to put some things in storage. When the bins arrived, they felt particularly heavy for supposedly empty containers. When the customers opened the packages, they were hit with a strong odor.

The drugs were seized by police, who have since launched an investigation. According to WFTV, the package was shipped via UPS from a facility in Massachusetts.

“Our customer service team worked directly with the customer to address concerns and will work with law enforcement to investigate the case, as needed,” and Amazon spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

The couple also seemed frustrated with Amazon's response. The company sent them a $150 gift card but the couple said they wanted an apology and an explanation for how this could happen.
