SUWANNEE, FL — A gator was recently spotted sunning itself on a mattress in a debris-filled canal in north Florida, the Miami Herald reported.

The mattress, which has fitted sheets and blankets still on it, has been seen floating in the Suwannee canal since Hurricane Helene, reports said.

Helene made landfall nearby on Sept. 26 in the Big Bend area as a Category 4 storm.
