1. The H2O Glow event will return to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon starting Memorial Day weekend, the theme park giant announced. The after-hours event will be held every Saturday night from May 28 to August 27 and feature DJ-led dance parties, food, and attractions for guests to enjoy. (Spectrum News 13)
2. Orange County Mayor Demings' Veterans Advisory Council is hosting a National Vietnam War Veterans Day Program today at the Lake Baldwin VA Medical Center, 5201 Raymond Street. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a proclamation presentation that is invitation only and not open to the public, which will last around 30 minutes. It will be followed by a drive-by pinning ceremony for Vietnam Veterans. All Vietnam-era veterans who served from November 1, 1955 through May 15, 1975 regardless of location will be eligible to receive a 50th Commemoration of Vietnam Veterans Pin and Presidential Proclamation. 3. Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream, a popular Orlando sweets concept, is going cashless after a string of break-ins. The most recent incident, captured on video, was the fourth time one of the ice cream shops has been hit by thieves. (WFTV)
4. A maintenance worker at Husseini Islamic Center near Sanford was killed, possibly with a shovel, by a man he was training to replace him, according to Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma. Investigators say the body of the 59-year-old man was found at the center, at 5211 Hester Ave., at around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday. (Click Orlando)
5. Sideward Brewing located at 210 North Bumby Avenue in the Milk District is celebrating three years of business on Saturday, with the party starting at noon. Guests can enjoy limited-edition anniversary merchandise, food specials from the past three years, and a variety of new beers on tap. (Bungalower)
