1. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer says the city is preparing for a vaccine rollout to children ages 5-11. Dr. Raul Pino said on Monday the planned expansion to children could mark the “beginning of the end” of the pandemic and Dr. Yolanda Martine agrees. (Click Orlando)
2. Orange County Public Schools said the planned football game between Ocoee and West Orange high schools on Friday has been canceled due to COVID-19 cases and quarantines. The district is working on getting another schedule up. (WFTV)
3. A lawsuit against Universal by a Brazilian mother has faced big delays due to the pandemic. An 11-year-old boy crushed his foot and leg at the end of the E.T. Adventure ride in 2019, according to his mother in the lawsuit. Travel restrictions by the U.S. government has made it difficult for the lawsuit to move forward. (Florida Politics)
4. International travelers returning this November as restrictions lift could give Orlando a big boost in economic activity. Greater Orlando Aviation Authority CEO Phil Brow says international travel made up 15% of traffic before the pandemic and now only makes up 3.5%. (WMFE)
5. Space 220, a new space-themed restaurant at Epcot inside Disney World, officially opened to the public on Monday. It simulates a dining experience 220 miles above the planet Earth. A space elevator will transport guests to the new dining experience. (Spectrum News 13)
