1. A 7-year-old girl in Lake County has died after her grandmother struck her over the weekend with her van, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The collision happened along the 900-block of CR-48 in Groveland on Sunday around 4:30 p.m. Authorities said the grandmother was at the location dropping off her family. (Orlando Patch)
2. Orlando Shakes has announced the W. Daniel Mills Apprentice Program. The program will provide year-long training for high school students, who also have the opportunity to perform with The Young Company this summer. (WESH)
3. Florida legislators will consider whether to end special districts put into place before 1968, including the one that essentially gives Walt Disney World Resort its own government, during their special session that starts Tuesday. The decision comes after a feud broke out between Disney and Governor Ron DeSantis and the state's "Don't Say Gay" bill that has caused a nationwide uproar among activists. (WFTV)
4. Orlando Brewing and the SoDo Main Street District will host this year's annual SoDo After Dark event on Saturday, April 23. The event will also include a bar provided by Tito’s, wine by Swirlery Wine Bar, non-alcoholic drinks provided by SoDo Kava, as well as other goods to enjoy. (Bungalower)
5. White Castle in Orlando is celebrating a successful first year of business and adding 24-hour service this summer as well as a number of delivery and take-out options to satisfy demand. The Orlando Castle has become the top performer among White Castle's more than 350 restaurants, on pace to sell five million sliders by its anniversary date. (Orlando Patch)
