- A Delaware judge sided with The Walt Disney Co. against a shareholder who sought to obtain records related to the company’s opposition to Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law that has been part of a feud with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The fight has led to the abolishment of a special tax district named Reedy Creek. The judge wrote the plaintiff "is not describing potential wrongdoing. He is critiquing a business decision." (Click Orlando)
- A developer is proposing a new 14-story mixed-use development on Lake Ivanhoe in Central Florida. The development would feature 252 multi-family units as well as 7,864 square feet of commercial retail space. A community meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on July 27 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ivanhoe Village. (Bungalower)
- A health advisory over the presence of malaria from mosquitoes is now being expanded across the state. The change comes after four confirmed cases of malaria were discovered in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The health department recommends the public to follow personal mosquito protection while the government sprays for the critters. (WESH)
- A Florida corrections officer from Lake County was arrested Tuesday after being caught leaving vape cartridges in trash cans accessible to inmates, according to an arrest report. The officer faces one count of introducing contraband into a county detention facility. The office admitted to intentionally leaving the items there, according to the report. He is out on bond. (Fox 35)
- "The People’s Rally for Our Rights" protest is happening on Tuesday, July 4 in downtown Orlando. Organizers claim basic rights are under attack including bodily autonomy as well as other freedoms. The previously protest had about 150 people attend. (Orlando Weekly)
