Obituary: Delbert G. Drackley

Western-lovin' former resident of New Lenox passes away in Apopka, FL at age 84.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Delbert Gage Drackley

Delbert Gage Drackley, age 84, a long-time former resident of New Lenox, and most recently of Apopka, FL, passed away peacefully, on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Gold Choice Assisted Living, in Deltona, FL, with his family by his side. Delbert was born in Ottawa, IL on June 4, 1939, the son of the late Alden and Alma (nee Peacock) Drackley. He spent many dedicated years as a Truck Driver with various companies before his retirement.

Delbert enjoyed spending his time doing jigsaw puzzles and watching westerns and game shows on TV.

Delbert is survived by his children, James (Denise) Drackley of Leesburg, FL, Deborah Drackley of Bridgeview, IL, and Michael Drackley of Mt. Dora, FL; grandchildren, Irene (Daniel) Cucchiarella of Deland, FL, John Drackley of Mt. Dora, FL, and Alden Drackley of Leesburg, FL; and great-grandchildren, Dominic Cucchiarella and Ariana Cucchiarella. His brother, Thomas (Dianna) Drackley of Papillion, NE, and many nieces and nephews.

Delbert is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marilyn J. Drackley (2020); his parents; his brother Gerald Drackley (2008), and his sister Janice (the late George) Psenda (2022).

Funeral Services for Delbert Gage Drackley will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
