1. A spokesperson for the city of Orlando said disciplinary measures have been taken and new approval processes are in place after an email newsletter for the city's Fireworks at the Fountain Fourth of July event created controversy. The employee was given an oral censure for the incident. (Fox 35)

2. A fatal crash near Orlando International Airport (OIA) on Saturday morning forced the closure of lanes and slowed down traffic on Jeff Fuqua Boulevard heading toward OIA, according to the Orlando Police Department. Two people were killed in the crash, reported by Orlando police at 6:49 a.m. at Jeff Fuqua and Semoran boulevards. (Click Orlando)

3. Florida Highway Patrol shut down State Road 417 after a dump truck overturned, spilling garbage across the northbound lanes of the highway. The dump truck was traveling north on SR-417 near the Lake Buena Vista exit when it overturned, forcing all northbound lanes to be shut down. (WFTV)

4. A Winter Park man was unemployed in 2021 and 2022 for a total of 10 weeks, yet never received a single payment between jobs because, according to the Department of Economic Opportunity, his requests were "disqualified." Now the DEO has issued payments totaling $3,500 into his bank account giving him badly needed funds to cover past bills. (Click Orlando)

5. Marriott Vacations Wordwide is hiring locally for up to 150 hourly positions and offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus across a variety of departments. Salaried positions are also available. The non-tipped hourly positions start at a pay of $16.25 an hour. The hiring fair is Tuesday, July 12 at Marriott's Grand Vista at 5925 Avenida Vista Orlando from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (The Apopka Voice)
