Here are the top five stories today in Orlando:

1. City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is praising first-responders and city staff amid the chaos on Monday night during the Fireworks at the Fountain event at Lake Eola. Orlando police said a noise scared watchers at around 10 minutes into the fireworks display and sparked a panic that sent people running and resulted in 12 people suffering minor injuries. 2. An investigation is underway after Sanford Police said a body of a male was found in a retention pond on Tuesday morning. Crime scene technicians and investigators were on the scene at Lake Mary Boulevard on Tuesday. (Fox 35)

3. Skyline Chili announced Tuesday that it is planning to open a new location near Orlando by early next year. The restaurant will be located at Flamingo Crossings Town Center, a shopping center near Walt Disney World. (WFTV)

4. An Apopka police officer has been arrested for DUI. Oscar Mayorga, 25, a five-year veteran of the department, was pulled over by an officer from Eustis Police Department with an open beer in the center cupholder of his marked vehicle and a strong smell of alcohol, according to police. A breath test revealed his blood-alcohol level was 0.391, while the legal limit in Florida is .08. (WESH)

5. Orlando has been ranked the "Sweatiest City" in America by MyDatingAdviser with nearly 100 days of temperatures above 90 degrees and a relative humidity of 78%. Other cities on the list include Corpus Christi, Baton Rogue and Tallahassee. (Orlando Weekly)

  • Former Seminole tax collector Joel Greenberg's sentencing is in the process of being set. Greenberg has been cooperating with federal prosecutors in an active investigation. He faces a maximum of 12 years in prison. (Click Orlando)
