Here are the top stories in Orlando today:
- Congressional Republicans are now targeting Disney World's no-fly zones in Orlando, as the war between Florida Republicans and Disney continues. The no-fly zones over Disney were established after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City amid security concerns at Disney. Critics argue Disney used the no-fly zone for a "commercial advantage." (Subscription: Orlando Sentinel)
- An elementary school student at Rosemont Elementary School is being called a hero after saving a fellow classmate who was choking. The class teacher was unsuccessful at the Heimlich maneuver and was trying to call 911, while the student saved their classmate. (WFTV)
- Disney struck a deal with the Reedy Creek board in February to ban tattoo parlors, liquor stores, adult entertainment, oil refineries and trailer parks. Disney did not ban prisons in the agreement. The new board has hired its first administration with a raise bringing pay to a $400,000 salary in taxpayer funds. (Click Orlando)
- A new lawsuit claims Magic in the Sky was testing fireworks at the warehouse where four people were killed and others were injured in Orange County around 5 months ago. The results from an investigation still haven't been released yet, according to Orange County District 3 Commissioner Mayra Uribe. The lawsuit claims the company did not have a license to operate in Orange County. (Fox 35)
- Fazoli’s is opening a new location in Orlando after a 15-year hiatus from the area. The new location will be located at 4201 E. Colonial Drive. No opening date is available as of Wednesday afternoon. (Bungalower)
