1. A missing dog and her Texas family were recently reunited after 7 years of separation with help from Orange County Animal Services. Jazzy was 5 years old when she was spooked by fireworks and ran away from her Texas home, somehow making it all the way to Florida. The owners tearfully reunited with their dog. (Orlando Patch, WESH)
2. The Seminole County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to attempt to take permanent custody of 38 dogs seized from a Midway Kennel Operator. The owner of the home involved in the incident and caring for the dogs was arrested before Thanksgiving on multiple charges of animal cruelty. (WFTV)
3. Winter Park's Main Street district is moving forward with hiring its first executive director, according to Orlando Business Journal. The incoming executive would be in charge of promotion of the Park Avenue downtown and oversee 140 local businesses in the region. (Subscription: Orlando Business Journal)
4. IDignity and Homeless Services Network of Central Florida will host its annual recognition of homeless persons who passed away in 2022 today, Dec. 14 at Heritage Square Park in front of Orange County Regional History Center. The names of those who died will be read aloud and tribute will be paid to those lost. (Bungalower)
5. A former Kissimmee firefighter has been sentenced to life in prison in a child rape case. Argelio Pupo was sentenced on Dec. 1, according to court records. Pupo was arrested in November 2020 by Apopka police after the victim contacted authorities about the incident. (Click Orlando)
