1. Shake Shack is opening its first Florida location with a drive-thru window, which will be only the fourth drive-thru location across the company, in Orlando at 11637 Daryl Carter Parkway as part of Vineland Pointe, according to a news release. The location will open Thursday, March 24. (Click Orlando)
2. The annual Florida Puerto Rican Parade and Festival is returning to downtown Orlando next month on Saturday, April 23. The event draws thousands of attendees each year. This year there's a new route for the parade. It will start on Robinson Street and Rosalind Avenue, go past Lake Eola, across Central Boulevard, up Orange Avenue and end on Livingston Street. (WFTV)
3. On Saturday, March 26, the Central Florida Boy Scout Council will honor Apopka residents Tom and Selina Terry for their philanthropic efforts in the community through their family foundation Forever Wishes. Forever Wishes is a non-profit organization formed by the Terrys to help assist Toys for Tots in Orange County. (The Apopka Voice)
4. A man accused of shooting at Marion County deputies while naked has been arrested, the sheriff's office said. Deputies responded to a neighborhood north of Highway 320 in Micanopy on Thursday after reports of a domestic disturbance when Daniel Robbins allegedly fired at them. (WFTV)
5. The Florida Film Festival has revealed the lineup for its 2022 program. The festival will run from Friday, April 8 to Sunday, April 17 at both Enzian Theater and the nearby Regal theater at Winter Park Village. This year the festival will showcase 167 films, both features and shorts, representing 37 countries, according to a news release. (Spectrum News 13)
