  1. Orange County Sheriff John Mina blasted Florida's new permitless carry law, which goes into effect today, as dangerous. Those who decide to carry a gun must still follow the law when doing so. (Fox 35)
  2. Hungry Pants owner Alex Marin, who self-identifies as gay, said his business is pushing acceptance for all people. Marin wants to have an inclusive workplace for his employees and also for everyone amid a tense political climate. 3. The Tyre Sampson Act, named after a 14-year-old who fell to his death from a ride at ICON Park in Orlando, is set to become law today. The law will allow for more inspections of rides and adds more safety requirements. Employees should also expect new training on safety measures. (WESH)
  4. Seminole County officials are providing tips on how to avoid the spread of mosquitoes amid a rise of malaria infections in Florida. Officials advise residents to drain standing water from their yards as officials work to send teams to control the spread of mosquitoes. The county is accepting mosquito control requests as well on their website. (WFTV)
  5. The International Pole Convention, or PoleCon, has been canceled in Orlando due to anti-LGTBQ+ legislation in Florida, according to organizers.
