1. Orange County Public Schools leaders were sent a letter from Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran threatening them over their mask mandate. The letter was sent after the ruling by a judge against Governor DeSantis that said the state overstepped its authority on mask mandates. The state is appealing the ruling by the judge to a higher court. (WFTV)

2. The Central Florida Disaster Medical Coalition is sending 14 portable morgues to area hospitals to help make room as deaths surge from the Delta variant of COVID-19 and overwhelm the local healthcare system. (WESH)

3. Mills 50 District and Ivanhoe Village Main Street will team up on Saturday, September 11th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the annual Virginia Drive Live event. Guests can enjoy live entertainment and food trucks as well as specials at local businesses with a wristband. (Bungalower)

4. Orange County Public School leaders said they saw the highest number of new COVID-19 infections this week, with almost 2,000 students and staff quarantined. The volume of infections is straining the staff attempting to contact trace and keep kids in schools safe. An investigation found Orange County and Lake County are the only school districts paying overtime to maintain data dashboards. (Click Orlando)

5. A Tesla driver was on autopilot mode and collided with a police car and a Mercedes SUV on Saturday morning at around 5 a.m. in Orlando. No injuries or fatalities were reported as a result of the impact. The crash comes as there is federal scrutiny of Tesla’s advanced driver assistance systems. (CNBC)
