Here are the top stories today in Orlando:
1. Vaccine Mandate Crackdown: 100+ Florida entities, including businesses, municipalities and event venues, are facing review with the Florida Department of Health for vaccine passports in violation of a law pushed by Governor Ron DeSantis. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings is also on the list. The fines could be $5,000 per violation. (Click Orlando)

2. SoDo Main Street has hired a new director, Misty Heath, who works with Bungalower. The second hire from the outlet. Heath is expected to start in November with a "Coming Out" party during Light Up SoDo on December 5th. (Bungalower)
3. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says the Southwest Airlines' mass cancellations over the weekend are not the agency's fault. The agency did admit to some issues on Friday. Southwest blamed the weather and the FAA leading to mass confusion at airports. The airline canceled 1,900 flights on Saturday and Sunday. (Spectrum News 13)
4. The University of Central Florida (UCF) Class of 2020 will return for a long-awaited in-person commencement ceremony on November 5th. The Florida Board of Governors required all of Florida’s state universities to hold virtual commencement ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. (Space Coast Daily)
5. Osceola County School Board member Julius Melendez wants to see if LYNX buses can solve the district’s critical bus driver shortage. Some parents are complaining of two-hour waits for the bus. (WMFE)
