Here are the top stories today in Orlando:

1. The Florida State Board of Education sanctioned the Orange and Brevard County school boards along with others Thursday for violating a state rule against requiring students to wear face masks. (WMFE)

2. Masks are now optional for adults at Volusia County Public Schools, according to superintendent Dr. Scott Fritz. That includes employees, parents, volunteers, vendors and other visitors at any school in the district. (Click Orlando)

3. Nintendo is coming: A Donkey Kong land is likely coming soon to Universal Orlando, but will first open to theme park fans in Japan. The pandemic delayed construction of the theme park addition in both Japan and the United States. (Orlando Weekly)

4. A sergeant with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has been terminated after the sheriff’s office said he abused his power during a traffic stop. An investigation found he purposely targeted Jeremy Dewitte, a registered sex offender with a history of arrests for impersonating a police officer. (WFTV)

5. Universal Orlando's holiday celebration returns November 13th through January 2nd. Festivities will include a holiday parade, Grinchmas, and holiday show at Hogwarts Castle. (Spectrum 13 News)
