Woman Killed In Florida Crash Involving Utility Vehicle: Police

The driver of a pickup truck hit the utility vehicle from behind and ran over the ejected driver early Thursday in Osceola County.

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL — A woman was killed early Thursday when a pickup truck crashed into her utility vehicle on a private dirt path in Osceola County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred east of the intersection of Five Oaks Drive and Harmony Square Drive, according to authorities.

The driver of the 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck, a 39-year-old man from Kissimmee, was heading west on the dirt road around 3:17 a.m. and didn't see the woman's Kawasaki Muel utility vehicle stopped ahead. He crashed into the rear of the Kawasaki, ejecting the driver, and then ran over the woman, police said.

The victim, a 38-year-old from Kissimmee, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where she later died. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
