• Palm Coast Will Require Registration and Occupancy Caps for 18 Sober Living Homes in Residential Neighborhoods (flaglerlive.com) — Palm Coast is moving to formally allow and tightly regulate sober living homes, requiring city registration, state certification, and a new 10-resident cap starting Jan. 1. Eighteen recovery homes already operate in city neighborhoods, and some will need to cut occupancy or newly register, including Oxford Houses, to avoid closure under the updated ordinance.
   

• Defendant Stumbles Through Self-Representation in Rape Case (flaglerlive.com) — A Flagler County defendant accused of repeatedly assaulting his stepdaughter is insisting on representing himself, despite a judge’s warnings about the risks and the strength of the evidence against him. The case, which began with the girl’s report at a Palm Coast middle school, now heads toward a February trial where he’ll face seasoned prosecutors largely on his own.
