Please email them as well:

SAMPLE PHONE Message:

"I am calling about House Bill 69. It is a common sense bill and I would like for you to vote for it. My name is _____ and my phone number is _____." Thank you.

SAMPLE EMAIL Verbiage:

I urge you to please support House Bill 69: Use of Wireless Communications Devices while Driving for the following reasons:

  • Texting while driving is a major safety hazard for every Florida driver.
  • According to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles, more than 45,000 crashes occurred by distracted drivers in 2015, resulting in more than 200 fatalities and more than 39,000 injuries.
  • These tragically high numbers sadly speak for themselves.
  • Florida needs more aggressive texting while driving laws.
  • Florida already has primary bans on drinking while driving, and seatbelt usage, both of which are highly effective.

We need to add texting while driving to the list of primary offenses.

Thank you for taking the time to consider making texting while driving a primary offense.

Below are links to numerous studies which all prove that texting while driving bans are highly effective in other states.
