16-Year-Old Accused Of Stabbing Mother, Another Female In Palm Harbor

Both the mother and the female relative were stabbed multiple times, but their wounds are not life-threatening.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 16-year-old Palm Harbor teen has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder after being accused of stabbing his 41-year-old mother and another female relative at their home Wednesday night.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the home on Steeplechase Lane in Palm Harbor at 8:52 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing, according to the sheriff's office.

Once there, deputies found a female with multiple stab wounds outside, who told them the boy's mother was in the house with multiple stab wounds as well.

The sheriff's office said both victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The 16-year-old fled the scene, but later surrendered to deputies. He was taken to the Pinellas County Juvenile Detention Center, the sheriff said.
