2 Die In Motorcycle Accident Saturday On US 19 In Palm Harbor

PALM HARBOR, FL — Two people were killed Saturday in a crash on U.S. 19 involving two Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 11:20 a.m., two Harley-Davidson motorcycles ridden by a 66-year-old Largo man and a 52-year-old Holiday man were traveling south on U.S. 19, approaching Eagle Chase Boulevard.

When traffic ahead slowed down, the Largo man lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the Holiday man's motorcycle, according to troopers.

The two motorcycles then overturned and collided with a Ford F250 with a utility trailer driven by a 43-year-old Clearwater man, said the FHP.

The Largo motorcyclist died at the scene. His passenger, a 62-year-old New Port Richey woman, was airlifted to the hospital where she died from her injuries.

The motorcyclist from Holiday and his passenger, a 49-year-old Holiday woman, are listed in serious condition.
