79-Year-Old Palm Harbor Motorcyclist Killed In U.S. 19 Crash

Troopers said a motorcyclist overtook and crashed into the side of the SUV. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 79-year-old Palm Harbor man has died after his motorcycle crashed into a car Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 5:15 p.m., the motorcyclist was heading north on U.S. 19 near Highlands Boulevard at a fast speed when a 75-year-old Tarpon Springs man made a U-turn in his SUV to proceed north on U.S. 19.

Troopers said the motorcyclist overtook and crashed into the side of the SUV. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The SUV driver and a passenger were uninjured.
