Boater Killed After Boat Struck Dock On Lake Tarpon Sunday
A 50-year-old man has died following a boating accident on Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 50-year-old man has died following a boating accident on Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, family members said Mark Mayer left his home at around 7 p.m. Sunday in his 19-foot Tracker boat and failed to return home.
At 11:26 a.m. on Monday, deputies assigned to the sheriff's flight unit located Mayer and his boat, which appeared to have struck a dock at 3723 Mullenhurst Drive in Palm Harbor.

The investigation showed that Mayer's boat struck the dock, and he was thrown from the vessel. His body was recovered from the water nearby.
According to deputies, alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
