Fire Department Offers CPR Training
Palm Harbor Fire Rescue offers CPR courses at its headquarters each month.

News of a Palm Harbor father who discovered his 11-month old son at the bottom of a swimming pool on Wednesday is enough to send chills down the spine of any parent.
The incident occurred on April 10 at 3699 Chatham Drive, according to Palm Harbor Fire Rescue spokeswoman Liz Monforti. The father performed CPR on the infant after pulling him from the pool. Rescue officials arrived at the scene and transported the boy to Mease Countryside Hospital.
Palm Harbor Fire Rescue offers CPR courses at its station headquarters, located at 250 West Lake Road.

Every third Monday of the month, the public can learn life-saving measures from a trained professional. Participants must be 12 and older.
The classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and cost $25 for non-Palm Harbor residents and $50 for others. This cost includes a Heartsaver Card and CPR handbook.

"You must be registered in advance to take the class," according to the station's website. "If you would like to sign up for an upcoming class."
The April class is full at this time.
The following dates are available:
- May 20
- June 17
