Palm Harbor Chef Serves Up Crepes at French Bistro
Like crepes? Palm Harbor's J.C. Lepretre has got you covered with the new Salt N Pepper Bistro in Clearwater.
Crepes are so diverse.
"It's a breakfast food. It can be a fancy dinner food. It's all about the ingredients. They can be just butter and sugar, if you have a sweet tooth," said Palm Harbor resident J.C. Lepretre, owner of the new Salt N Pepper Bistro on Clearwater-Largo Road.
The diversity of fillings is fun, said Lepetre as he stirred a pot of leeks. A native of France and a chef his whole adult life, Lepretre has been around the crepe business for more than 50 years. He previously owned French restaurants in Clearwater and in his native France, he said.

The art of making a crepe is all in the wrist. And in September, Lepretre brought his culinary skills with crepes and a variety of French cuisine to the new bistro.
Sweet or savory, crepe options are endless. Each crepe is made to order.

"I love crepes, it is my passion," Lepretre said.
What is one of his favorite crepes? Just ask, and he will most likely serve up a crepe filled with thinly sliced bananas and a warm, chocolate hazelnut sauce.
Other options include homemade butter croissants, omelettes, fresh garden salads, blintzes, and quiche.
