Palm Harbor Girl, 15, Seriously Injured In Crash
A girl, 15, was seriously injured in a Tuesday morning crash outside Palm Harbor University High School.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 15-year-old Palm Harbor girl was seriously injured in a Tuesday morning crash on Delaware Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Tristen Cecala, 17, was heading eastbound on Delaware Street, approaching Palm Harbor University High School, around 7:25 a.m. May 16. As Cecala’s Ford F250 neared the school, troopers say Alexus Waytowich was walking south a the parking lot, approaching Delaware Avenue.
Waytowich attempted to cross Delaware, a highway patrol report said, and entered the westbound lane. She walked behind a stopped school bus and into the eastbound lane of Delaware. When she did, troopers say Cecala’s truck struck her.

The girl was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Troopers did cite her for violating the truck’s right-of-way, the report noted.
