Palm Harbor Woman Arrested at Occupy Tampa Demonstration

Tampa Police say dozens of demonstrators refused to leave after being warned.

A Palm Harbor woman was one of 29 demonstrators arrested at an Occupy Tampa movement Thursday night.

, 18, of Palm Harbor was arrested on charges of trespassing after a warning and resisting arrest without violence, according to authorities.

Riley is a 2011  grad and an occasional Local Voices blogger for Dunedin Patch. Dylan J. Wallis, 19, of Dunedin was also arrested.

Authorities say about 50 protestors gathered after Riverfront Park closed Thursday evening. When police arrived, the protestors were chanting as they sat with their arms locked together. About 20 demonstrators left after police gave multiple warnings that the park was closed.

27 protestors did not leave and were arrested and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail. Two other protestors were arrested for entering the park and refusing to leave, police said.

"All of these cities that have taken up the Occupy title are headed for the same place, they have a single goal: restore democracy," she wrote.

She also blasted mainstream media.

"Have you heard about Occupy Wall Street? If you haven't, I wouldn't be all that surprised," she writes. "It seems that the mainstream media had a tendency to leave stories like this untouched."
