  1. If you're looking for a way to keep your kid's brain active during the summer and avoid the "summer slide," you should look into participating in book bingo at Bay County Public Library for the month of July. With the goal of preventing the slide, book bingo is a fun activity done at the library where participants stop by the local library, grab a bingo card, and work on completing the various tasks on their board until they achieve bingo. This fun activity has proven to interest many children, as they have the choice of what they want to read and they are working toward a goal rather than just staring at pages. (WJHG)
  2. Once again, hundreds of people in Panama City are without water after another break in the water main. The water was shut off Wednesday night after a contractor working with Florida Power and Light accidentally hit the main at Star Avenue and Nadine Road. Repair crews attempted to get to the break to fix it Thursday but had difficulties reaching it due to the depth of the pipe as well as the ground being saturated with water. The plan is to replace around 200 feet of the main line; while this is happening, a boil water notice is in effect for the North Bay Landing Apartments and Liberty subdivisions until tests show the water is safe to drink. 3. Just before the Fourth of July, two women stumbled upon an irreplaceable item in Panama City and are now looking for the rightful owner. Just off entrance 51 for the beach, a necklace was found, and inside the necklace was an urn that read "forever in our hearts" and appeared to contain the ashes of a loved one. The two women are actively working to return the necklace and could use all the help in locating them; if you or someone you know has lost a urn necklace, please click here to get in contact with Patricia.
