Here are the top three stories today in Panama City:

  1. The Florida State University (FSU) Early Childhood Autism Program (ECAP) is hosting its 11th annual Auction for Autism Awareness in April, with the goal of raising $15,000 to support the ECAP Scholarship fund, which helps Bay County families impacted by autism who require financial assistance for therapy. The event will include dinner, a silent auction, and prizes, and will take place on Friday, Apr. 7 at the Holley Academic Center at the FSU Panama City campus, with tickets priced at $30 per person and free admission for children aged 12 and under. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  2. A Panama City Beach coffee shop, The Pour, has been ranked No. 58 in Yelp's Top 100 best places to eat in Florida this year. The Pour is a unique coffee shop that doubles as a nonprofit organization, raising money for The Ark, a transitional-housing shelter located on the same property, to provide financial assistance to locals in Bay County. The Pour is known for its cinnamon rolls and offers a "secret latte" dubbed "the Teddy Roosevelt," which boasts honey, vanilla, and cinnamon flavors. (Subscription: The News Herald)
  3. A traveling carnival at Bay County fairgrounds was shut down on Friday, Mar. 31, by the Bay County Sheriff's Office due to reports of people fighting and the lack of security at the event. When the police arrived at the scene, those who might have been fighting allegedly ran off. Although no individuals were arrested, the carnival was closed immediately, and operations were not permitted to continue the following day. (WJHG)
