🌱 New Laws Takes Action In Florida + Airport Hosts Live Music

- This past Sunday, Living Word Fellowship Church got an early celebration of freedom in for the Fourth of July with its Freedom Fest at Oakland Terrace Park. Following the church service members, gathered for a picnic including subs, watermelon, and a friendly game of kickball. Pastor Hayward Miller welcomes all those who are interested to come out, regardless of affiliation. Another Freedom Fest event is currently being planned on Jul. 30 which will go by "Stellar Sunday.” (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
- On Jul. 1, several statewide laws took effect in Florida, including new permitless carry gun law. Of note, this law does not permit open carry in the state without the proper training and clearance. This new gun law also gets rid of the mandatory concealed weapon license, which also required a training course. (First Coast News)
- This past Saturday, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport kicked off its ECP Wheels Up Summer Music Series, where guests at the airport can listen to live music from the TSA checkpoint. This series is a way for airport officials to thank customers for their ongoing support and a way to make the experience of flying a bit less stressful during this hectic time of the year. Passengers will be able to hear live music every Saturday in July from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. (WJHG)

- Over the weekend, Panama City Police's very own Capt. Carstarphen presented Newk's Eatery with a certificate of thanks. The restaurant was able to provide food recently for the Bike Rodeo. (Panama City Police Department via Facebook)
- This Saturday, Parker Elementary School will be partnering with several different people in the community for its first annual yard sale. Members of the community are encouraged to donate, be a vendor at the event, or just attend the event; the rain date for the event is the following Saturday. (Bay District Schools via Facebook)
