Here are the top three stories today in Panama City:

  1. Election officials have changed the Panama City Ward 2 polling location from the Glenwood Community Center to the A.D. Harris Learning Village on East 11th Street. Bay County Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen said the Glenwood Community Center cannot be used as a voting location due to its building contract and a federal grant. Anderson also announced that early voting has been moved to City Hall for the Apr. 18 election. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  2. Bay County Commissioners have announced their support for two new job creation Bay Economic Development Alliance projects, Agua and Maple. Both projects would require an expansive portion of land. Project Aqua would build an industrial park for heavy manufacturing on about 500 acres of land in Panama City. Project Maple would need an 80,000-square-foot site at the airport for an aviation-related project. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  3. Overcrowding at Bay District Schools could impact school choice next year. The Bay District Schools Board Chairman Steve Moss said, "Almost every high school is at capacity in regard to school choice except for Arnold." Any student who wants to attend a different high school, that is not Arnold, will not be able to due to capacity limits and overcrowding. The only exception is if a student's sibling is already attending the at-capacity school. (WJHG)
