  1. A new sidewalk will be added in Panama City along the south side of Frankford and Florida Avenue in a $9.4 million project aimed at improving pedestrian safety. The project is being funded through an $8 million grant and is expected to be completed in 2025. The addition of the sidewalk will connect two marinas and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists along Beach Drive, a major connecting point between downtown Panama City and St. Andrews. (WJHG)
  2. Bay County commissioners and the Bay County Tourist Development Council have introduced the "Stay PCB Current" initiative, an information hub for beach safety. The QR code provides information about beach flags, rip currents, sea turtles, and "leave no trace." Commissioner Clair Pease hopes to place the QR codes in every beach condominium to help keep visitors informed. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  3. The Social Justice Club down the road at North Bay Haven presented a check to the American Red Cross for $2,443, which was raised to help earthquake victims from Syria and Turkey. The students raised the money with a color war event at school and help from the community. The Red Cross expressed gratitude for the students' efforts to help those in need.
