  1. Panama City resident Timothy Weldon was arrested this past Saturday after allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl. According to investigators in Bay County, Weldon engaged in sexual acts with the girl multiple times and admitted to such on video; however, when he was interviewed by officers, he denied all allegations. Weldon, already registered as a sex offender, has been charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  2. The Rise and Swine food truck is celebrating its year anniversary of being open and in business operating in Panama City. As the title suggests, the breakfast truck specializes in pork-based dishes but also has a variety of other things to try like chicken. The truck gets a lot of support from the Salty Oak Brewery Company as they partner together to help each other bring in customers. (WMBB - mypanhandle.com)
  3. The Panama City Downtown Improvement Board is currently working on creating a new ordinance that will loosen up rules regarding open containers. This ordinance would allow people to carry their open alcoholic beverages in designated locations and shops legally. Many areas in the country have similar rules in place and have not seen an increase in issues surrounding it; public intoxication and other laws will not be affected by this change in ordinance. This proposal will also assist local businesses, though participation in the proposed ordinance is completely voluntary. (WJHG)
