Senior living community launches value-based care progam

Watersound Fountains, an independent living community currently under construction near the Watersound Origins neighborhood, is partnering with Curana Health to provide value-based care for its senior living residents. The partnership will provide onsite medical clinics and in-home healthcare services and address the growing need for healthcare in Walton County.

Access to healthcare has become a concern for Walton County residents since Healthmark Regional Medical Center closed in March of 2022. Construction is currently underway on two healthcare campuses in the area - North Walton Healthcare Campus in DeFuniak Springs and The FSU Health-Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Medical Campus in Panama City Beach. Both projects should be complete in 2024.

“There are many wonderful things about our community – the proximity to the beach and golf course, our high-end amenities, and our location near Watersound Origins – but access to healthcare remains a top priority for residents,” said Melissa Adams, executive director of Watersound Fountains. “Curana Health will provide residents convenient and coordinated physician-led care from the comfort of their home, and offer families peace of mind knowing that mom and dad are well taken care of.”

Through the partnership with Curana Health, residents of Watersound Fountains will receive concierge-style access to preventative care, sick visits, lab work, wound care, and blood pressure clinics. Curana Health will also coordinate care with residents’ current specialists and other care teams. In addition, they will offer 24/7 access to advanced practice providers who specialize in geriatric care.

Watersound Fountains, which is managed by Watermark Retirement Communities, also offers a variety of integrative wellbeing programs for residents and associates through its 360Well program. 360Well offers opportunities for health, education, and exploration with a focus on individual interests and objectives.

Watersound Fountains is currently under construction and expected to open in 2023. Residents of the community will have access to Curana Health services upon move in.
