All Clear At Naval Air Station Pensacola, No Sign Of Active Shooter

Authorities have given the all-clear at Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station after an active shooter report was deemed unfounded.

PENSACOLA, FL — The all clear has been given after authorities found no signs of an active shooter Thursday at Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station, base officials tweeted.

"Law enforcement conducted a sweep of Naval Air Station Pensacola and Corry Station in response to reports of an active shooter situation," the base's X account said. "They have reported that there are no signs of an active shooter, and the area is determined ALL CLEAR."

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded around 10:15 a.m. to a potential active shooter on board Corry Station.

At a news conference, around 12:15 p.m., Escambia County authorities said an initial sweep of the structure did not turn up evidence of a shooting.

In an update, authorities said they received two reports of three gunshots fired.

They added there were no clear signs of victims or signs of a shooter.

"Our Security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners," Capt. Chandra Newman said in a tweet. "Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families."

The gates at Corry Station, as well as the main and west gates at the NAS, were closed, base officials tweeted shortly after 11:30 a.m.

The Naval Air Station Pensacola is located at 150 Hase Road, Ste. A. The Corry Station, named the “cradle of cryptology," serves as a command for the Center for Information Warfare Training.
