Pensacola health clinic is a lifeline for uninsured patients (wusf.org) — A Pensacola free clinic is providing lifesaving medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy care to uninsured residents, including many seniors who fall through coverage gaps. Staffed mostly by volunteers, Health and Hope Clinic has quadrupled its patient load since 2019, delivering millions in medications and critical diagnoses at no cost to some of Escambia County’s poorest neighbors.
   

2. He Ate At The Same Restaurant Every Day. When He Didn't Show Up, The Chef Went Looking (howzitkohala.com) — A longtime Shrimp Basket regular in Pensacola was rescued after staff noticed he suddenly stopped showing up for his twice-daily gumbo and the chef went to check on him at home. Finding the 78-year-old injured and dehydrated, they got him medical help, then later helped him move next door to the restaurant so they can keep an eye on him.
   

3. 'A Drag Queen Christmas' show goes on amid protests at Pensacola's Saenger Theatre (weartv.com) — A controversial performance of “A Drag Queen Christmas” went ahead at Pensacola’s Saenger Theatre Tuesday night, drawing both enthusiastic attendees and organized protests outside. City leaders kept the show on despite pressure from Florida’s attorney general and local churches, citing legal and financial risks. Police maintained a strong security presence as both sides emphasized free expression and peaceful protest.
   

4. PHOTOS: Shop with a Cop events bring Pensacola-area kids holiday cheer (pnj.com) — Pensacola-area law enforcement turned their focus from patrols to presents this December, treating local kids to Christmas shopping sprees and gift giveaways. Pensacola Police, Escambia County deputies, and Santa Rosa deputies teamed with sponsors like Innisfree Hotels and Target to surprise 91 children with toys, clothes, and more, highlighting how local officers connect with families beyond emergency calls.
