• Escambia USPS driver allegedly tried to hit child with vehicle (pnj.com) — A USPS driver was arrested in Escambia County after allegedly trying to run over a child with his mail truck during a dispute over a misdelivered package on Kingfisher Way. The child escaped injury, but the scooter was damaged and briefly taken. In separate local postal news, construction is underway on a new post office in downtown Pensacola, expanding services for city residents.
   

• Northwest Florida braces for healthcare premium surge as ACA subsidies expire (weartv.com) — Pensacola-area residents could see their health insurance premiums spike now that federal ACA subsidies have expired, with some Northwest Florida families reporting costs nearly doubling. Community Health Northwest Florida in Pensacola expects more uninsured and under-insured patients from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, while national lawmakers debate whether to restore or revise the program. Clinic leaders say they’ll treat anyone, insured or not, but may need more staff.
