Thank Them For Their Service With Your Old Phone Or Tablet

AT&T said people can turn their used smartphones and tablets into prepaid phone cards for U.S. military personnel.

PINECREST, FL — With Veterans Day celebrations planned across the United States this weekend, wireless carrier AT&T wants to make people aware of a program to turn their used smartphones and tablets into prepaid phone cards for U.S. military personnel.

"With many people already doing their holiday shopping, chances are there’s a new smartphone on their shopping list," explained Kelly Starling of AT&T. "So what will they do with their old cellphones? How about using them to help our troops in honor of Veterans Day?"

Starling said that the carrier is looking for gently used phones, tablets and smartphones. The program is called "Cell Phones for Soldiers."
