Freedom Square Kicks Off 40th Anniversary Under New Leadership

SEMINOLE, FL — Freedom Square of Seminole announced Joseph Mingione as the executive director overseeing all community operations as of Jan. 1.

Twenty years ago, Mingione spent his early career as associate executive director with Freedom Square of Seminole and has since been instrumental in financial and operational successes both locally with the Masonic Home, The Springs at Boca Ciega Bay, regionally with Greystone Health Network, and, most recently, with a sister community, Freedom Plaza Retirement Community in Sun City Center.

“Freedom Square’s inspiring residents and compassionate staff have held a special place in my heart for more than two decades and I am thrilled to be back,” said Mingione.

Mingione is a native of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and a 1988 graduate of Penn State University, he has lived in St. Petersburg for more than 30 years and has plans to further the relationships that Freedom Square has built over its 40-year history.

Mingione joins the hundreds of team members serving nearly 700 residents across five levels of service: independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitative and long-term skilled nursing care. Freedom Square will celebrate its 40th anniversary with several events throughout the year, which will be announced soon.
