A crash has closed Gulf Boulevard in both directions in Madeira Beach, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Gulf Boulevard is shut down in both directions at 164th Avenue. Sheriff's deputes are directing traffic, authorities report.
Deputies recommend that drivers use an alternate route such as Park Boulevard to the north and 150th Avenue to the south to avoid the area.
Authorities say that a vehicle crashed into a power pole around noon, which caused the pole to lean into the street. No one was injured in the crash.
