John’s Pass Waitress To Compete At Hooters Pageant

MADEIRA BEACH, FL — Ireland Dabydeen, who works at the John’s Pass Hooters location in Madeira Beach, is one of the top 20 finalists selected to compete live for the title of 2021 “Miss Hooters International” and a cash prize of $30,000 on Thursday, July 29 in Orlando.

There will be 20 Hooters Girls from across the country participating in the pageant at the Hooters on International Drive.

Ireland Dabydeen lives in downtown St. Petersburg and has worked at the John’s Pass location for almost 2 1/2 years. She is a full-time mom and currently attends St. Petersburg College, studying to become an elementary school teacher.

She said she is excited every day she goes to work at Hooters and enjoys the uplifting environment with her friends and supportive managers. She also enjoys giving back to the community through Hooters including Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“I am very excited to represent a company that has given me so many opportunities and does so much in our community. I hope to show women to not give up on your dreams and to keep going,” Dabydeen said.

The top 20 finalists will spend a week in Orlando, doing photo shoots, community outreach projects and participate in an interview panel. The week culminates in a live pageant on July 29 with celebrity judges, including the Original Hooters Girl, Lynne Austin; UFC fighter Andrei Arlovski; and competitive eating World Champion Joey Chestnut, who will crown one Hooters Girl with the title of 2021 Miss Hooters International. The pageant will also be shown live on Atmosphere TV at local Hooters.

The top 20 finalists were selected from a virtual pageant featuring 80 contestants. The virtual pageant included a fan voting score combined with interview scores.
