Matter of Taste: Salmon Entrees

Salmon is one of the most popular dishes on any restaurant's menu, especially on the beach. Have a look at some of our favorite places to enjoy fresh salmon.

Salmon is a popular fish to make a meal out of. While some enjoy it for breakfast and others at lunch time, we found some of the most delightful entrees featuring salmon on the beach.

Known for its high end appeal and superb quality, the Black Palm restaurant has perfected its salmon recipe. Elvia's Salmon is a baked filet with a homestyle touch. It is served next to a bed of sofrito rice and glazed carrots. A dill cream sauce tops it all off for $23.

The salmon dish at Madfish comes from a traditional preparation of the favored fish. For $18.95, the Oven Roasted Cedar Planked Salmon come with Ybor Cuban bread, tapenade and a delicious house salad. The salmon is roasted and topped with a bourbon-maple glaze and served alongside sticky rice and asparagus.

An Asian-infused style of salmon can be enjoyed at Snapper's. The Asian Orange Glazed Salmon goes for $17.95. A fresh salmon filet is grilled to perfection and then topped with an orange glaze. The dish comes with coconut basmati rice and sauteed spinach.

 

Kick off your salmon entree right with a Caesar Salad at Patrick's or add a California Salad for $3. Then, indulge in the Herb Grilled Salmon for $21. Atlantic salmon is grilled with zesty herbs and is then served with scampi butter sauce. The chef recommends a glass of Pinot Noir or Pinot Grigio to wash it all down.

 

You can't beat the "2 for $25" deal at Salt Rock. Indulge in bread, salad, an entree and dessert, times two for just $25. Try the Salmon Rosette on for size. The plate is described as "fresh salmon stuffed with our blue crab stuffing, oven baked and served with crab veloute." Garlic mashed potatoes are served on the side. (Select times: M-Sat 4-5:30 p.m.; Sun 12-5:30 p.m.)
