Satisfying Sandwiches on the Beaches
Establishments on the beach are crafty with the art of sandwich making and offer a variety of original recipes.

If you need some fuel after a long day at the beach, enjoy one of the many sandwich options at Pass-A-Grille’s Brass Monkey restaurant. The Buffalo Bleu Breast ($8) comes with a chicken breast dipped in hot wing sauce and and topped with melted bleu cheese crumbles. Another option is the Blackened Tuna Sandwich ($12). The plate is served with 8 oz. of blackened sushi grade tuna on your choice of bread (kaiser, white, rye, wheat or wrap). Each sandwich is accompanied by lettuce, tomato, a pickle spear and chips.
If you’re in the mood for a rockin’ atmosphere to go with your grub, try Jimmy B’s on for size. Noted for their live music scene, Jimmy B’s is located on the Gulf side so you can enjoy drinks, food and entertainment right in the sand. The Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sandwich ($10.95) boasts “a medley of flavors in every bite.” The chicken breast is topped with a spicy, Jerk sauce and pineapple ring before being served on a kaiser bun with lettuce, onion and tomato.
Looking for a table with a view? Look no further than Woody’s Waterfront restaurant. The hidden gem is a local favorite and offers a tasty menu of burgers, baskets and snacks. “Sandy-wiches” come with homemade cole slaw, lettuce and tomato. Try the Surfin’ Steak Sandwich ($9.95) for a fresh and filling delight. Juicy sirloin is shaved and topped with onions, mushrooms and cheese.

If you are craving some peace and quiet on the beach, visit Nina’s cafe. The quaint restaurant is a perfect pit stop for both food and rest. Specialty Sandwich options range from the BLT Club ($7.99) to the Muffuletta ($7.99). The club is a combination of bacon, lettuce and tomato on three slices of bread with your choice of meat (turkey, ham or cheese steak). The Muffuletta is a hefty recipe complete with salami, ham and pork. Swiss and provolone cheese top off the tasty selection.
Editors Note: The Avenue Gourmet was originally included on this list, but they have closed down recently. We apologize for any trouble that may have caused.
