Soups on St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island

With winter temps showing face, soup is a sure way to stay warm and full.

Stay warm this winter with a slew of soup options along the gulf coast. Restaurants dish up heaping piles of delicious soup every day and we've narrowed our list of favorites down to five.

  • - Try this St. Pete beach hot spot for a steaming bowl of homemade soup. For $6 you can indulge in a hefty portion of soup accompanied by hot rolls and butter. The chef's soup selections change on a daily basis, so be sure to call and see what the Madeleina Cottage is serving up.
  • - Black Beans are the name of the game at The Floridian restaurant on Treasure Island. Their Black Bean Soup is made naturally with no meat stock which also qualifies it as a vegetarian option. Topped off with fresh onions and served with delicious cuban bread, a helping of Black Bean Soup can be yours for just $3.59.

  • Of course this local favorite for sushi serves the traditional Miso Soup, but we thought we should switch it up. We decided to showcase something that not all sushi or thai joints may offer. Osaka's Vegetable Soup is packed with flavor and nutrition. The clear broth is flavored with a hint of garlic and a veggie medly including mushrooms, carrots and broccoli. It's only $3.95 for a serving, which makes it all the more appealing.

  • - Serving up authentic French cuisine is the Gulf Bistro's specialty. A delectable item on the menu is the Onion Soup Gratinee. The name is fancy, but it sounds like a tastier version of the Americanized favorite french onion soup. Topped with a fresh crouton and cheese, this onion soup selection goes for $6.95 a bowl.

  • - These guys are the lobster masters of the beach. Who is more fit to create a smooth and delightful Lobster Bisque? The creamy menu selection is a tad rich, so you may want to consider it an entree or even try sharing the wealth. Fresh batches are waiting to be consumed for $8.75 per serving.
