During his career as the public works administrator, he spearheaded the accreditation of the Public Works Department by the American Public Works Association. This accreditation is verification and recognition that the city of Pinellas Park's Public Works Department applies the recommended public works management practices. The benefits to this achievement are that the city experienced increased operational performance, increased teamwork, reduced duplication of work and wasted resources, reduced liability and lower insurance premiums.

Diebold is married to wife, Jennifer, and has a daughter, Hannah, 18.

Other promotions include Keith Sabiel Jr., formerly leisure services administrator to public works administrator, and Angela Pietras, formerly the director of the Barbara S. Ponce Library to leisure services administrator.
